I do not go to Mass very often. Can I still come to BCYS events?

Everyone is welcome to everything the BCYS offers: our events in your area, our retreat centre (Walsingham House), our trips abroad, and our sports competitions.

Naturally we encourage you to get involved with your local parish - they need you! - but we respect the fact that you may not be going to Mass for all sorts of reasons. We do not interview or select for any of our events, and we do not ask for references unless we are employing someone!

At BCYS events you will find lots of other young people with many of the same questions, hopes, struggles and issues in their lives that you have. We are not home, and we not school, and that can be very important because it means that pressures which are very naturally there in home and school life are not there in the BCYS. Away from those pressures you can discover more fully who you are, in an atmosphere of friendship, fun and faith.

Mass is certainly part of what is offered at almost all BCYS events - but here too there is space to discover something different when you are celebrating with many other young people.

In the words of Francis de Sales, "Be who you are. Be it well. And all for the glory of God." You are very welcome and we look forward to seeing you at a BCYS event.
