Who We Are
Brentwood Catholic Youth Service - fun, friendship and faith
"What can the church offer me?" "I never see any young people in my parish" "I do not go to church but I am curious about faith" "I have heard some of my friends talk about Lourdes" "I want to meet other young people who believe what I believe" "I want to meet other young people who ask the questions I ask about faith and Jesus"
If you have ever said any of those things, then this is the website for you. This page tells you more about what the BCYS is and does, who some of the key people are, and some of our hopes for the future.
At the heart of what we do is Jesus. This means we treat everyone with respect, we accept people, and we try to help young people to develop and deepen their Christian life and faith. That does not mean it is all very serious, or silent prayer all the time. The BCYS is full of young people, mainly aged 14 - 18, with all the normal questions, hopes, struggles, dreams and friendships. There are lots of young people who took the risk and tried a BCYS event at age 15, 16 or 17 who are still in touch with the people they met there. The BCYS is a place of fun, friendship and faith.
